Actor Noah Schnapp has become quite well-known for his role as Will Byers on the hit series Stranger Things. Now Noah Schnapp, in a move he compares to his character, has publicly come out as gay.
It’s a move that he announced on his TikTok account. And, with over 6.6 million likes at the time of this writing, it’s clear that he has plenty of support. Luckily, it wasn’t that difficult of a time, as he expressed in an audio clip for his video which states the following:
“You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, will never be that serious.”
To expand on that, Schnapp wrote the following statement over the video regarding his experience:
“When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know.'”
At this point, Noah Schnapp drew comparisons with his gay Stranger Things character Will Byers. The character was finally confirmed to be gay in the fourth season of the series.
“I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought,” he wrote.
