The Puppet Master horror film franchise is moving to the world of video games. It’s just been revealed that Puppet Master: The Game will have an open beta scheduled for March 2023.
The new video game comes from October Games working in association with Full Moon Features. It’s been described as an asymmetrical multiplayer game with players being able to control both puppet and human characters from the franchise.
Additionally, as revealed in the first dev vlog video via YouTube, there will also be a single player game mode. This new game mode, titled Toulon’s Journals, is the reason why the game won’t be released in 2022 as officially announced. The developers have taken extra time to make sure this new mode is done correctly.
Toulon’s Journals has been described as a sandbox mode where players can play from the perspective of the iconic puppets. Furthermore, their goal is to complete challenges and earn experience points as they hunt for the lost pages of Andre Toulon’s journal.
Each page has a recording which can be played within the game mode and in the game’s menu system as well. Fans will be excited to know that Nat Brehmer, author of Puppet Master Complete: A Franchise History, wrote the journal entries himself. As he shared below:
THRILLED to finally be able to talk about this! I wrote the Toulon Journals for PUPPET MASTER: THE GAME! (@PuppetMasterTG) To say it was a dream come true to write this character, this world & piece this story together is probably obvious, but it was. https://t.co/YxNe4OPbEn

The developers also revealed their plans to implement bot support. This will allow players to enjoy the Human vs Puppet game modes by themselves if desired. It’s clear that new 2023 release date will be worth it for fans anxious to play Puppet Master: The Game.
On that note, October Games will also be offering a closed beta for Puppet Master: The Game on their Discord server. So fans will have their chance to play this game sooner rather than later.
Puppet Master: The Game is currently available to wishlist on Steam. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on the highly-anticipated video game as we have them.
