The upcoming MCU film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania AKA Ant-Man 3 is expected to be the darkest installment yet in the Ant-Man series. As such, some fans believe that Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang might not survive this outing as Ant-Man. Now a new Marvel update seems to have spoiled the character’s true fate.
This reveal was subtly included in a report from THR focusing on the 100 most powerful women in the film industry. This happens to include lawyer Deborah Klein who represents both Paul Rudd and Samuel L. Jackson. As such, an interesting tidbit regarding Rudd seems to have exposed his future in the MCU.
Specifically, the report notes that Paul Rudd is set to be involved with “more Ant-Man and Avengers“ sequels. This must indicate that Scott Lang survives the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in order to make it that far.
Here’s the quote:
“Klein’s ever-prolific client Samuel L. Jackson continues his Marvel run with Secret Invasion and The Marvels, as does Paul Rudd with more Ant-Man and Avengers.”
Of course, it’s still a vague enough statement that we could see Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang killed off in one of these future Avengers installments. Or, given the inclusion of the Multiverse, perhaps we’ll see the main MCU’s version of Scott Lang killed or a variant in his place. There are plenty of possibilities and we may very well see Ant-Man 3 explore all of them. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay written by Jeff Loveness. The confirmed cast for the film includes Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, and Jonathan Majors.
Fans will be able to see Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in theaters on February 17, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on the highly-anticipated MCU blockbuster as we have them.
