The controversies and allegations surrounding Kevin Spacey only continue to grow. It’s now been confirmed that Kevin Spacey is set to face an additional seven sexual assault charges in the United Kingdom, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Specifically, officials stated that the alleged incidents occurred between 2001 and 2004. There’s said to have only been one victim involved with the assaults. This includes three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. The Crown Prosecution Service further iterated their intentions to give Kevin Spacey a fair trial.
As further noted by Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division in an official statement:
“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mr Spacey are active and that he has the right to a fair trial.”
This is only the latest development in the 63-year-old actor’s history of sexual assault allegations. Kevin Spacey was previously found not liable last month following a civil sexual assault suit from actor Anthony Rapp in New York City. He also pleaded not guilty in a London court earlier this year in July, after Metropolitan Police charged him with several sexual assault charges.
It’s worth noting that these legal troubles have created a domino effect of sorts for Spacey. For example, he’s also set to pay $31 million in damages for having been fired from the Netflix series House of Cards. The actor was fired due to allegations of sexual misconduct, and as such, it’s clear that these accusations against him will continue to have an effect on his career. Indeed, Kevin Spacey is still working, with several new projects on the way. With that in mind, it’ll be interesting to see how these various lawsuits continue to play out and what will happen to Kevin Spacey as a result.
