Fans have been clamoring for the next installment in the MonsterVerse following the very successful release of Godzilla vs. Kong. And while a new film and television series are both in development, there haven’t been very many details regarding these upcoming projects. Now it appears the official title for Godzilla vs. Kong 2 has been revealed.
As it turns out, the words in the title aren’t much different than Godzilla vs. Kong – but the title itself has a much different meaning.
A series of images recently surfaced online which reveal several production gifts. Each gift has the movie’s logo in plain sight. As such, one can only assume this will be the film’s new title: Godzilla and Kong. Indeed, the movie merely replaces the “vs” of the last film to indicate that the two truly are working together this time around.
Here are the images:
The “Origins” production title has been known for a while, but if this is, at last, the actual title, it opens up many interesting story possibilities!
That said, I’m secretly hoping they name this thing “Godzilla vs. Kong 2: Godzilla and Kong – Origins” just to be confusing. 😆 pic.twitter.com/sKBIgSeDuo

Of course, it’s possible that this title could change at some point in the future. After all, the original working title was “Origins.” For the time being, however, it looks like the new title of the Godzilla vs. Kong 2 will be Godzilla and Kong. So we’ll have to wait and see if that title sticks or if the studio will have a more extravagant label for the upcoming blockbuster.
Adam Wingard returned from his directorial work on Godzilla vs. Kong to direct the new sequel. The screenplay was penned by Terry Rossio, Jeremy Slater, and Simon Barrett.
The cast for the film includes Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle. They’ll be joined by Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, and Rachel House.
Audiences will be able to see the new sequel in theaters on March 15, 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates as we have them. With both this sequel and a television series set within the MonsterVerse in the works, there’s plenty to be excited for.
