It was previously revealed that Norman Reedus would be starring in his own Walking Dead spin-off following the events of the flagship show. Now it’s been revealed that Clémence Poésy and Adam Nagaitis will be joining him in the cast of the series, now titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
As revealed via Deadline, “Clémence Poésy (The Essex Serpent) and Adam Nagaitis (Chernobyl) are set as leads opposite Norman Reedus in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, AMC’s spinoff from its flagship drama.” Interestingly, they noted that this actually “marks British actor Nagatis’ return to AMC where he previously starred in The Terror.”
Although there aren’t many details about the plot for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, it is “set after the series conclusion of TWD,” where the new spin-off series “finds the zombie apocalypse fan favorite transported across the Atlantic to France and a whole new level of a world gone mad.” With that in mind, it should be an interesting change of pace from the original series. In order to demonstrate that, the new characters in addition to Norman Reedus will make for some interesting new companions.
For example, “French actor Poesy will play the female lead Isabelle, a member of a progressive religious group, who joins forces with Daryl (Reedus) on a journey across France and finds herself confronting her dark past in Paris.” Meanwhile, actor Adam Nagaitis will play “a displaced Brit” named Quinn. His character “has become powerful in post-apocalyptic Paris as a black marketeer and the owner of the Demimonde, a sexy underground nightclub.”
This new series is set to be only one of several The Walking Dead spin-offs both airing and in the works. Although the flagship series has just about reached its conclusion, it’s clear that AMC has plenty of plans for the brand going forward. It’ll be interesting to see, then, how The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon fares when compared with its predecessors. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates as we have them.
