Last year, Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd took the title for People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. However, it looks like another Avengers actor has now taken the title away from him. It’s just been revealed by People Magazine that Captain America actor Chris Evans is now considered the Sexiest Man Alive.
As shared via NPR, “Chris Evans may have put down Captain America’s shield but he’s got a new badge of honor: he’s been named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.” This was specifically announced Monday night during Stephen Colbert’s late night show alongside the magazine’s website. As it turns out, Chris Evans is excited for his mom to hear the news.
“My mom will be so happy,” he shared. “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”
He further joked that his friends will be teasing him about the title:
“Really this will just be a point of bullying,” he humorously added. “It’s ripe for harassment.”

Indeed, with Paul Rudd having received the title last, there’s no doubt that he’ll have some funny quips to add. Interestingly, however, actor Chris Hemsworth was the first Avengers actor to earn the title. So perhaps there’s a trend beginning here that we’ll continue to see with other Marvel Cinematic Universe stars in the future. We’ll just have to keep our eyes out.
Of course, Chris Evans is no longer actively involved with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After his appearance in Avengers: Endgame, he seems to have retired from the role, having passed the shield to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon. Though many fans still hope to see Evans come back to the franchise someday. And while we still have to wait to see if that happens, it’s nice to know he’s finding success elsewhere, such as his Sexiest Man Alive title.
On the Captain America front, however, fans can look forward to Captain America: New World Order with Anthony Mackie. The film will be hitting theaters on May 3, 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates as we have them.
