Pete Davidson has been busy with his upcoming series Bupkis, a new show that’s currently set to premiere on the Peacock streaming service. Unfortunately, it’s been revealed that Davidson actually suffered a breakdown on the set, where the pressure apparently became “too much” according to one source. As a result, he “allegedly threw candles, coffee and a TV around his New York City trailer last week.”
This report comes via The Sun, where they also noted that “Pete has allegedly been asked to take a few days off from his own movie set to ‘focus on himself.'” However, given that this break will only last “a few days,” he’s expected “to be back on set with cameras rolling sometime later this week.” As for a specific day regarding his return, that has yet to be announced. With his return happening later this week, though, we should have a confirmation soon. In the meantime, it appears that “cameras have allegedly been rolling even with Pete away.”
A production insider stated that “Pete threw two candles through his trailer and damaged a second truck’s windshield.” The insider further continued to note that Davidson “also threw coffee on the walls and broke a TV in half inside his trailer.” Thus, as the insider puts it, “Apparently, Pete’s been given some time off to get his s**t together and focus on himself.” With that in mind, it’s “unclear what exactly set off Pete’s alleged outburst.” Furthermore, “a police report has not been filed over the alleged incident.”
It’s possible that we’ll have more information in the near future. As for now, it looks like Davidson will simply be taking a short break before returning to the Bupkis production. The actor recently broke up with Kim Kardashian this summer, and as such, it’s possible that this influenced his meltdown. Though there are reports that the two have maintained their friendship and that Davidson was even “in good spirits earlier this month” during a rare public outing.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates as we have them. As for now, however, fans can still expect Bupkis to resume filming with Pete Davidson in front of the camera.
