The positive reception for Resident Evil 2 proved that there was a major market for classic horror games getting remade. Now it looks like the Silent Hill franchise is getting in on the action. As you can see below, a new trailer has been released which unveils a remake for the classic video game Silent Hill 2.
Fans will remember that Silent Hill 2 is often considered one of the best games in the franchise. As such, it’s an easy choice to create a horror-oriented remake that both new and old fans could enjoy. In fact, beloved game development studio Bloober Team is behind this new iteration of the iconic title. They’re best known for such hits as Layers of Fear and Blair Witch. So, without a doubt, they’re a great match for Silent Hill.
Here’s the new teaser trailer for Silent Hill 2:
It’s been stated that the game will include an over-the-shoulder camera view with familiar composer Akira Yamaoka returning to score the new game. In addition, Masahiro Ito will also be returning to assist with the video game’s development. A specific release date has yet to be unveiled, but given that the game has now been officially announced, it shouldn’t be much longer before other details are released. In the meantime, this new teaser trailer is a great taste for what’s to come. And, as mentioned above, with Bloober Team involved – it’s clear that this title is in good hands.
The Silent Hill 2 remake will be available for both PC via Steam and PlayStation 5 at launch. It will then become available on Xbox consoles at a later date.
