The Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded with its first true piece of horror fiction: Werewolf by Night. The new Disney Plus special features a number of throwbacks to classic monster movies, and as such, it’s been the perfect Halloween treat for subscribers. With that said, it’s also the perfect time to look at where the new special fits in with the rest of the MCU. Luckily, Disney Plus has already included Werewolf by Night with its official Marvel timeline.
As it turns out, Werewolf by Night is the most up-to-date piece of the MCU timeline. You’ll see that it occurs just after the events of Thor: Love and Thunder. So, with that in mind, it’ll be exciting to see which projects are listed next in the growing film and television franchise.

Now that the special is officially released, one can hope that it won’t be long before we continue to see its characters appear throughout the MCU. There’s plenty of potential with upcoming films like Blade on the way. And, considering we’ve already seen such heroes as Moon Knight introduced, Marvel has certainly paved the way for more monsters to show up. It’s a great time for fans of these characters and the more horror-adjacent offerings of the Marvel brand.
The Werewolf by Night special was directed by Michael Giacchino. The screenplay was written by Taboo Nawasha and Benjamin Jackendoff.
Fans can currently stream Werewolf by Night on Disney Plus in addition to a wide number of other Marvel Cinematic Universe shows and films.
