With Chris Hemsworth’s numerous appearances as Thor throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was an exciting change of pace when he appeared in the lead role of Extraction. The film was an interesting take on the action genre, and better yet, a sequel was soon after announced. Now we finally have a featurette video which reveals our first look at Chris Hemsworth in Extraction 2.
As you can see below, the featurette includes plenty of incredible behind-the-scenes clips. In addition to some of the stunts teased, fans will also notice the incredible task of landing a helicopter on top of a moving train.
The footage also suggests that we’ll be seeing a sequence that looks as though it were all shot in one take. By the looks of this video, Extraction 2 will be raising the bar set by its predecessor.

Hopefully we’ll get to see more from the film in the coming months or early next year. Until then, however, it looks like the production is moving along nicely.
The upcoming sequel Extraction 2 is directed by Sam Hargrave from a screenplay written by Joe Russo. The story was written by Joe Russo alongside his brother Anthony Russo.
The cast for the film will once again be led by the aforementioned Chris Hemsworth. He’ll be reprising his role as Tyler Rake, a black ops mercenary who formerly worked as a SASR operator. Golshifteh Farahani will also reprise her role from the original film. They’ll be joined by Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili.
Although a specific release date for Extraction 2 has yet to be announced, it’s currently scheduled to be released at some point on Netflix in 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates on the highly-anticipated Extraction sequel as we have them.
