With the film having been stuck in development for years, it’s great to see that Disney has finally managed to get their sequel to Enchanted – titled Disenchanted – off the ground. Production for the highly-anticipated film finally began in 2021, 14 years after the original film was released. Now, as fans can see below, the first official trailer for Disenchanted has arrived.
The new trailer was released at this year’s D23 Expo and teases some exciting plot developments. For example, it looks like Amy Adams’ character from the first film has now become a wicked stepmother. It’s an interesting direction for the Disney Plus exclusive to take, and with that in mind, its November release date just can’t come soon enough. Fans of the original film should no doubt be pleased with this new installment.

The new Enchanted sequel was directed by Adam Shankman from a screenplay written by Brigitte Hales. The story for the film was written by J. David Stem & David N. Weiss and Richard LaGravenese. The film will be produced by Barry Josephson, Barry Sonnenfeld, and Amy Adams. Meanwhile, Jo Burn, Sunil Perkash, and Adam Shankman serve on the project as executive producers.
In addition to Amy Adams returning to reprise her role as Giselle, the film also features original cast members Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden. The cast also stars Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays.
Fans will be able to experience Disenchanted later this year when it premieres via Disney Plus on November 25, 2022.
