The controversies surrounding actress Gina Carano who was previously fired from the Disney Plus series The Mandalorian continue. As a result of her being fired from the fan-favorite Star Wars series, Carano was quickly blacklisted from Hollywood. It seemed as though she wouldn’t be finding any additional acting work as a result. However, that changed when she was given opportunities by Daily Wire to work on movies intended for a right-wing audience. This includes the upcoming film My Son Hunter, a trailer for which was recently unveiled via Breitbart, and for which the actress faced plenty of backlash.
Now, it looks like Gina Carano’s Twitter account no longer exists.
The account, which was previously available under the username @ginacarano, is no longer available. For anyone that attempts to locate the profile, they’re greeted with a message that states “this account doesn’t exist.” As such, it was previously unknown whether or not the account was deleted by Gina Carano herself or if she was banned by Twitter.
While the specific reason has not yet been given, Gina Carano has finally explained what happened. She explained the following on her Instagram story:
“I didn’t get banned from Twitter.. I deleted it.”
Of course, we still don’t know why she chose to do so. Especially when she’s continuing to use her Instagram profile. However, with the aforementioned backlash over such projects as My Son Hunter, it seems like that’s a pretty good reason for why she deleted the profile. We’ll likely have more information regarding her reasons for doing as much soon. For now, though, it looks like Gina Carano’s Twitter account is no more. For anyone interested in keeping tabs on the actress via social media, you’ll have to do so on Instagram.
The debacle surrounding Gina Carano has been a fascinating one to follow. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any further updates as we have them.
