The highly-anticipated sequel to Hocus Pocus, appropriately-titled Hocus Pocus 2, is set to introduce a new generation to the iconic Sanderson Sisters. While Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will return to reprise their memorable roles – they won’t be the only original cast members returning. It was previously revealed that actor Doug Jones would be returning as Billy Butcherson as well. Now, as you can see below, a new image from Hocus Pocus 2 reveals the return of Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson – and he looks as great as ever!
This image, via EW, also included some exciting comments from Doug Jones about the upcoming film. He revealed that not only is it “seamless between the first movie and the second,” but that the new film “keeps the pureness and nostalgia alive and well for those who grew up with the first movie.” He also explained that “any new fans we’re gathering now will be excited about modernization for the current time we’re in.”
As for what it was like to return as Billy Butcherson, it sounds like it was quite easy for him to fit back in the role. Here’s what he had to say on that front:
“Billy came back to me immediately, it was frightening how he’s been alive while I’ve been playing other characters all these years, but, Billy’s like, ‘I wanted my chance again.’”

With the film just about a month away, we’ll likely receive even more looks at the long-awaited sequel. Fans have been waiting decades for an addition to the original Hocus Pocus – and now we’re finally getting it. By the looks of this latest image with Doug Jones, as well as previous trailers, this certainly looks like the Hocus Pocus sequel we’ve been hoping for.

Sam Richardson also stars along with Tony Hale, Hannah Waddingham, Froy Gutierrez, Juju Brener, Taylor Paige Henderson, and Nina Kitchen. The aforementioned Doug Jones will return as Billy Butcherson.
