Fans spent several years waiting for an announcement on Insidious 5. Now, not long after the film was first announced, it’s been revealed that filming on Insidious 5 has officially wrapped! This is great news for fans of the franchise – and it means that the highly-anticipated horror sequel is on track for its 2023 release date.
Actor and director Patrick Wilson shared the good news on Instagram, explaining that it’s “…lights out on our next installment of the Insidious franchise. Second leg of the journey is done. Now on to post. To my entire cast/crew…THANK YOU…for the drive, the passion, and the hours. And a big thanks to all the partners/spouses/families/friends who dealt with our wacky schedule.”
Indeed, it looks like their wacky schedule had paid off. Furthermore, the image reveals that the film was shot under the title “Fear the Dark.” But, as of this writing, an official title for the upcoming installment has yet to be announced. As such, we’ll have to continue waiting to see what kind of title Insidious 5 receives. In the meantime, however, it looks like one of the hardest parts of the journey is over. After so little news for so long, it’s great to see that Insidious 5 is quickly moving along and that the filming has now wrapped.

The new film was directed by star Patrick Wilson, who also returned to act in the film. The screenplay was written by Scott Teems based on an original story by Leigh Whannell.
Original Insidious stars Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Ty Simpkins all return alongside newcomers Sinclair Daniel, Peter Dager, and Hiam Abbass.
The project will be produced by Jason Blum, James Wan, Leigh Whannell, and Oren Peli.
Insidious 5 is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on July 7, 2023. Fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates as we have them. Now that the film has wrapped – we should continue seeing all kinds of exciting tidbits in the near future.
