With multiplayer games based on iconic horror films becoming a popular trend, it looks like Killer Klowns from Outer Space is the latest title to get the treatment! Fans have been clamoring for a new Killer Klowns from Outer Space project for decades. While we’ve yet to see any development on an official sequel – at least not yet – it looks like fans of the brand are getting the next best thing. With an announcement that came seemingly out of nowhere, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will be arriving next year in 2023.
The new game will be an asymmetrical multiplayer experience from Teravision Games and Good Shepherd Entertainment. With a 3v7 structure, it will see three players taking on the role of the titular Killer Klowns while seven others will be playing as the human citizens of Crescent Cove. It certainly sounds like a promising premise and one that should get both horror fans and gamers excited.
Here’s the official reveal trailer:
As for the official setup of the game…
“Plan your own alien invasion and harvest humans as the iconic Killer Klowns, or gather a team of survivors to fight the extraterrestrial threat, in a game based on the ‘80s cult classic movie. Welcome to a new, craazzy take on the asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience!”
Fans can visit the official site for additional information and the opportunity to sign up for the game’s closed beta. Hopefully we’ll have more details on this project soon. In the meantime, it’s great to see the Killer Klowns from Outer Space brand alive and well. With new merchandise and even theme park attractions popping up every year – one can only hope that sequel isn’t too far behind. At the very least, however, this video game looks like the perfect way to hold fans over.
