A number of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law viewers complained that the newly-released Disney Plus series was too “woke.” Now complaints have extended from a men’s domestic violence awareness group on Facebook. This particular group, titled “Domestic Violence Awareness Australia,” took the opportunity to announce their boycotts against She-Hulk and even another similar series – Batgirl.
As summed up by one user on Twitter, “a Family Court Dad-style Facebook page is mad at the television show She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.” Their reasoning for the boycotts of She-Hulk and Batgirl is apparently due to “the vitriol they harbour towards men.”
This is more fully elaborated in the official post made by Domestic Violence Awareness Australia, which you can read below alongside the tweet from the user who shared it:
Have you ever noticed that feminists consistently try to gaslight and provoke men, persistently put them down and ridicule them? I’m starting to think feminists are just really weak women, with none of the strengths that are inherently natural to normal women.
As an example I started watching Disney’s new She Hulk with my partner last night. She is talking to Bruce Banner who is attempting to help her deal with the transformation. He states that it took him ten years to overcome his inner anger to consolidate himself with the Hulk.
Of course the She hulk does it within 24 hours with the reason being “As a women we learn to control our anger very early due to catcalling and everyday misogyny”, this is after mixing her blood with Bruce’s heals his arm because “she is superior to him”.
I noticed the same thing with Batgirl in the first scenes when the bat suit is revealed the first time and she states that it is much better than Bruce Wayne’s suit because it “is designed for a woman”.
Needless to say, my partner and I stopped watching both series before finishing the first episodes due to the vitriol they harbour towards men.
I have zero respect for an ideology that makes its money from hate and exclusion.
It seems feminists cannot raise to the heights of their male counterparts, so must tear them down to their level.
What moron put these creatures in charge of solving family violence?

The post apparently suggests that “feminists consistently try to gaslight and provoke men, persistently put them down and ridicule them.” The post further targets women specifically, stating that they “think feminists are just really weak women, with none of the strengths that are inherently natural to normal women.”
In order to demonstrate this, the Domestic Violence Awareness Australia group specifically mentions She-Hulk. It appears that the author was particularly upset in the way that Jennifer Walters is able to control her anger when compared to Bruce Banner.
Furthermore, they claim this creative decision was made by feminists to “tear them [men] down to their level.” They end their post with the following question after expressing their desire for boycotts against She-Hulk and no longer watching the Disney Plus series:
“What moron put these creatures in charge of solving family violence?”
This is quite a reaction to the new Disney Plus series. While many fans have enjoyed what She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has to offer the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems that some viewers are upset with its change of pace. In any case, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuing its focus on diversity, so we’ll probably continue to see more backlash in the near future.
Tatiana Maslany leads the cast of She-Hulk as Jennifer Walters aka the titular character. She’ll be joined by Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner aka Hulk. Tim Roth also reprises his role as Emil Blonsky aka the Abomination from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Ginger Gonzaga, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and the aforementioned Jameela Jamil also star.
The new Marvel Cinematic Universe series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is currently available to stream on Disney Plus.
