The first footage for the upcoming Netflix series Wednesday has been released in a brand-new teaser trailer. It promises that the series will feature both the light horror and dark comedy that fans of the Addams Family brand expect to see. In fact, there’s an outright bloodbath when Wednesday lets loose a school of piranha on some unsuspecting swimmers. And that’s just the first few moments of the new trailer.
It continues to show that Wednesday is taken to Nevermore Academy, a school where she’s expected to better fit in with the crowd. It’s also revealed that this is the same school where Gomez first met Morticia.
While details beyond this are scarce, especially considering this is only a teaser trailer, there are additional glimpses of some gorgeous cinematography. It certainly looks like Wednesday will be a spectacular series. Furthermore, it looks like Jenna Ortega will be a spectacular Wednesday.

At this rate, one can hope that we’ll have additional looks at the upcoming series soon. In the meantime, however, this is a great teaser trailer which shows just what kind of series Wednesday will be. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the series looks as additional trailers are released. In the meantime, this is a great tease to finally hold fans over.
The cast for the series includes Jenna Ortega as the titular Wednesday Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. Isaac Ordonez will also be playing Pugsley Addams while Christina Ricci has an undisclosed role in the show. Tim Burton directed the series while Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were attached as writers and showrunners.
