Fans of the horror genre have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the next Insidious film. After all, with several sequels having been made in the years since the original, it’s become quite the supernatural horror franchise. Of course, with most installments being prequels, fans are curious to know what happened after the events of Insidious 2. Now the upcoming Insidious 5 will explain just that. Furthermore, with production on the film finally scheduled to begin, we have an official announcement regarding the Insidious 5 cast.
The cast announcement, as shared via Deadline, has revealed that quite a few familiar faces will be appearing throughout Insidious 5. This includes the likes of Rose Byrne, who will be returning in the film as Renai Lambert.
We also have a few new faces joining the fray as well.
As they’ve stated:
“Screen Gems and Stage 6 Films are set to start production on Insidious 5, the latest installment in the hit horror series with Sinclair Daniel, Peter Dager, and Hiam Abbass joining returning cast members that include Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Ty Simpkins.”
And there we have it. Fans can expect Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, and Ty Simpkins to reprise their roles from the franchise’s earliest installments. Meanwhile, Sinclair Daniel, Peter Dager, and Hiam Abbass will be joining the group. This certainly sounds like an exciting lineup and it’ll be interesting to see which directions they help take the fan-favorite supernatural horror franchise. It’s certainly a great time to be an Insidious fan and finally see what exactly happened after Insidious 2.
The new film will be directed by star Patrick Wilson, who will also be acting in the film. The screenplay was written by Scott Teems based on an original story by Leigh Whannell.
The project will be produced by Jason Blum, James Wan, Leigh Whannell, and Oren Peli.
