In the decades that the Halloween film franchise has been around, the various timelines have produced some rather interesting takes on Michael Myers. We’ve seen the character act under the control of evil cults, and other films where he was simply a natural product of his abusive childhood environment. As such, the character could be taken in either direction at this point, and many are eager to know how Halloween Ends will handle this. In fact, ahead of the upcoming film’s release, some fans have started a new theory which suggests Michael Myers is actually a clone created by the CIA.
When you consider the third entry of the franchise, the underrated Halloween III: Season of the Witch, didn’t focus on Michael Myers at all, this isn’t exactly a surprising theory. Especially because this particular film involved trick-or-treaters having their brains melted by a cult of modern-day witches using the power of Stonehenge. Yeah, anything can go with these films.
As for the CIA theory, it attempts to explain why Michael Myers has never been completely captured or killed. Specifically, the CIA is using Haddonfield as a testing ground for their army of Michael Myers clones.
As you can see explained below:
Michael Myers is a Government Asset

Of course, this might not fit well with the vision intended by the original film. It also might upset franchise purists who only prefer to see Michael Myers as a personification of evil. But for a franchise that’s already introduced more wacky ideas and interpretations of Michael Myers than most other horror properties – it’s not that much of a stretch. In the meantime, fans will still have Halloween Ends on the way, and for those who dislike the CIA theory – we’re likely not going to get any clones in this installment.
David Gordon Green returned to direct Halloween Ends, following his work on its predecessors, Halloween and Halloween Kills.
The cast for the new sequel includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak, and Kyle Richards. James Jude Courtney will return to play the role of The Shape alongside original Michael Myers actor Nick Castle.
Fans will be able to see Halloween Ends later this year on October 14, 2022.
