The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been branching out with some of its most experimental and divisive entries yet. While some of these films, such as Spider-Man: No Way Home, seem to be universally loved, it’s been less easy for others. For example, the Marvel film Eternals was criticized by many fans following its release. Nevertheless, it looks like Marvel Studios is still hoping to develop some kind of Eternals sequel in the future.
This probably shouldn’t be too surprising. After all, Marvel loves creating new sequels and franchises along with the rest of their superhero content. But, as mentioned above, Eternals was criticized by quite a few fans after it was released.
As such, it wouldn’t have been too surprising if the company chose not to create a direct follow-up. Actor Patton Oswalt, however, did seem to indicate that an Eternals sequel is indeed in the works.
As you can see in the video below:

He seems to suggest that he and Harry Styles will be back for another entry. The two were first introduced in a post-credits scene from Eternals where Patton Oswalt played Pip the Troll and Harry Styles played Starfox. So with their introduction in mind, it does make sense that they’d appear in a follow-up. As he teased:
“Hopefully, there will be more adventures for Starfox and Pip.”
It is interesting, however, that he says the MCU sequel was already announced. It actually hasn’t been. This is the first time it’s been openly discussed. Patton Oswalt states that Chloé Zhao is actually expected to return as the director for the film as well. With all of these details now in the open, one can hope that we will have more concrete announcements unveiled soon. Perhaps Kevin Feige is saving such an announcement for Disney’s D23 event. As such, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
