The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding in some interesting ways. For example, we’ll soon be getting the Disney Plus series Ironheart focusing on the fan-favorite comic book character. Although the series is still somewhat in its early stages of development, there have been a few exciting cast updates. For example, Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich recently joined the cast. Now we know that RuPaul’s Drag Race star Shea Couleé has joined the cast of Ironheart as well.
As noted by Deadline, there aren’t any other details regarding their “secret role.” This means it’s unclear who fans can expect Shea Couleé to be playing in the Ironheart series. Despite this, however, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of role Marvel Studios has in mind for her. Hopefully we’ll have more news soon on that front.
The show is expected to more closely focus on the titular character, aka Riri Williams, who will be played by Dominique Thorne. This character winds up creating a suit of armor that will closely resemble the suit worn by Tony Stark’s Iron Man. So one can imagine that this will be a major expansion to the lore featured in the MCU.
Meanwhile, ahead of the release of Ironheart, fans will first see the character in the upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Ryan Coogler directed Black Panther: Wakanda Forever from a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole.
The cast we can currently expect for the new MCU film includes Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, Michaela Coel, and Tenoch Huerta.
Fans will be able to see the highly-anticipated Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, later this year on November 11, 2022. It’s expected that we’ll have more details regarding Ironheart not long after that. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for further updates as we have them.
