The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been expanding quite nicely with the introduction of Phase Four. The new batch of films and shows have further explored not only the MCU as we know it, but also other universes and continuities. While it seems obvious that this will continue to be a theme for the future of Marvel going forward, it looks like some of their specific plans might’ve just been leaked.
As noted in a Reddit post, five different trademarks were recently filed at the European Union Intellectual Property Office for different goods and services categories.
Furthermore, they were revealed to have been filed by Mitscherlich. This is particularly notable because they’ve actually worked with Disney in the past for other patents. This makes this report seem all the more legitimate.
Here’s the list of titles for trademarks that were revealed to have been filed:
- AVENGERS: SECRET WARS
- AVENGERS: THE KANG DYNASTY
- CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER
- MULTIVERSE SAGA
- THUNDERBOLTS
It’s worth noting that a Captain America film featuring Sam Wilson is already in development. As such, it isn’t a stretch to believe that Captain America: New World Order could serve as its title. Additionally, there was also the recent announcement that a Thunderbolts movie was being fast-tracked, so that title makes sense as well. With the Avengers titles, however, that seems much less clear. But with the emphasis on the Multiverse in recent films, it does seem like a Secret Wars film could be in the works. We also know Kang the Conqueror is going to gradually become a bigger part of the MCU – so that fits as well.
Ultimately, it then does make sense too that these new phases will be considered the “Multiverse Saga.” Of course, none of this has been confirmed as of this writing. But with Comic-Con 2022 upon us, it seems just as possible that any of these titles could be announced or confirmed. So stay tuned to ScreenGeek for further updates regarding the future of Marvel as we have them.
