The world of Dungeons & Dragons is once again being expanded for the big screen, this time with the upcoming live-action film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. The new film features an incredible cast that will be going up against a number of fantastical monsters. Furthermore, the new film will have an emphasis on humor and charm, which should set it apart from other modern-day fantasy films. Now this humor and incredible cast has been put on display with a brand-new trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves released by Paramount.
The classic Dungeons & Dragons brand has become increasingly popular over the years. As such, it makes sense that a new live-action adaptation should get released. The property was first adapted in 2000, with an additional two live-action films produced up until 2012. This will be the fourth live-action film in just over a decade.
Here’s the new trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves:
As stated above, this new live-action iteration is much more focused on humor than its more serious modern-day counterparts. With that said, it looks like a hilarious film with plenty of heart and high-octane action that should have any fan of the tabletop game in for a good time. Hopefully we’ll be able to see more from the film sooner rather than later. In the meantime, however, this is still a great teaser for what’s to come.
Jonathan Goldstein and Jon Francis Daley, co-directors of Game Night, will both be co-directing this film. They also co-wrote the screenplay for the film. Dave Arneson and Gary Gygax created the original tabletop RPG game in 1974.
The cast for the upcoming film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis, Regé-Jean Page, Hugh Grant, and Justice Smith.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is scheduled for a theatrical release date in March 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more updates on the upcoming film as we have them.
