Many Star Wars fans have been eager to see Alden Ehrenreich return to the franchise. While his performance as Han Solo in the Solo spin-off movie was not the most well-received at the time, there are still plenty of fans that feel his character was more than underrated. And, while he still isn’t set to return as Han Solo, it appears he’ll be making his debut in another Disney property. This time it’s been revealed that Alden Ehrenreich has joined the cast of the upcoming Disney Plus series Ironheart.
The new series, set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, focuses on the character Riri Williams aka the titular Ironheart. The character is set to make her own debut in the upcoming MCU film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever scheduled for a release later this year. Now that we know Alden Ehrenreich has joined the cast of Ironheart, however, this is a very exciting development as shared via Deadline.
It’s currently unknown which role Alden Ehrenreich could be playing. But it’s been stated that his part will be “a key role.” It isn’t hard to imagine that he might be playing one of the main villains for the upcoming series. Of course, that remains unconfirmed, so we’ll just have to wait and see what his part really is. Hopefully we’ll have more details soon. Until then, fans can still look forward to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever for its inevitable introduction of Riri Williams aka Ironheart.
Dominique Thorne will be playing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s iteration of Riri Williams. Meanwhile, Anthony Ramos is also attached to the cast in an undisclosed role. The Ironheart Disney Plus series is expected to premiere on the streaming platform sometime next year in 2023.
Fans will first see its titular character, aka Riri Williams, however, in the upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 11, 2022.
