The upcoming Disney Plus series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is expected to introduce several new characters to the franchise. Now a new She-Hulk rumor suggests one such character will actually be Thing, the iconic Fantastic Four character. Thing, otherwise known as Ben Grimm, is recognizable for his orange rock-like body.
This rumor comes from Reddit via 4Chan, and it claims that the character will be introduced in Episode 8 of the Disney Plus series. Furthermore, he’ll be appearing in the next two episodes, making appearances in all three of the show’s final episodes.
The rumor also claims that the character will be portrayed by none other than Jason Segel. As one might imagine, motion capture would be used to bring this version of the iconic comic book character to life.
As they’ve stated:
“Jennifer has a mystery client who only communicates with her via a different lawyer. (lots of jokes about this, “who has a lawyer just to talk to lawyers”)
The character is being done in a mocap suit by Jason Segel. Similar set up to how they did Thanos.
The Thing is fighting a defamation case.
He shows up in Episode 8, has fight scenes in 9 and 10. Mainly fights the Wrecking Crew.
There’s a moment where She-Hulk, The Thing, and Daredevil share the screen.”
Of course, Daredevil is only rumored to be in the series as well – so that remains to be seen. As such, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt. But since Fantastic Four characters were already teased in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – anything is possible.
Furthermore, the Disney Plus series only has 9 episodes altogether. So it doesn’t make sense to say the character will play a major role in the last 3 episodes if he’s introduced in the eighth episode. But despite that inconsistency, there’s still some possibility that we’ll see Thing anyways. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
The cast for the series stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk. She’ll be joined by Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner aka Hulk. Tim Roth will also reprise his role as Emil Blonsky aka the Abomination from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Ginger Gonzaga, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Jameela Jamil also star.
The new MCU series She-Hulk will be premiering on Disney Plus on August 17, 2022.
