Sony is gradually expanding their Spider-Verse with a variety of upcoming spin-offs. This includes Kraven the Hunter alongside the likes of El Muerto and Madame Web. We also have the sequel to Venom: Let There Be Carnage on the way. As such, fans are anxious to know what might happen with some of these projects and their plans going forward. Especially because it’s still mostly unknown what direction they intend to be going in. For example, many thought No Way Home would connect the dots, but films like Morbius have proven otherwise.
Now new leaks from Kraven the Hunter might confirm another film without Spider-Man connections if they’re to be believed.
For example, many fans expected Andrew Garfield to be returning as Spider-Man sooner rather than later. Especially since he made a comeback in the recently-released film Spider-Man: No Way Home. With so many other Spider-Verse spin-offs coming, it’d make sense to strike while the iron is hot. But according to these Kraven the Hunter leaks, Andrew Garfield is nowhere to be seen.
Rather, we’ll be getting appearances from the likes of Vulture and Morbius.

It also sounds like many of the characters associated with Kraven the Hunter, including Kraven himself, have been altered quite drastically from their comic book counterparts. Of course, as noted, these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. It’s very likely that these aren’t representative of what we’ll be seeing in the final film. In fact, even if they were legit, Sony still has plenty of time to change certain aspects like post-credits scenes around. As such, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens with the property until then.
J.C. Chandor is directing the film from a screenplay by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk. The film will be produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach.
Audiences will be able to see Kraven the Hunter when it hits theaters early next year, on January 13, 2023.
