With Johnny Depp having won the verdict against his ex-wife Amber Heard, many fans are hoping things will go back to normal. While it looks like the allegations have yet to stop, Johnny Depp has still regained the support of the public, and it seems likely that he’ll continue working in the entertainment industry yet again. Of course, the question stands – would Johnny Depp return to Pirates of the Caribbean? According to a new report, he just might, assuming an alleged deal that Disney offered is true.
It certainly would make sense if Disney wanted to work with the iconic actor again. After all, many fans have become disappointed in the company now that Johnny Depp has regained the public support of his fans. As such, reports are coming in that they have offered Johnny Depp an opportunity to return to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Here’s what the initial report via Pop Topic stated:
“Disney are very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp. They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another Pirates film or two.”
After claiming that Disney has a new draft featuring Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow penned, they further insisted the studio hopes to get Johnny Depp back. Furthermore, they reportedly had the following offer in mind:
“Disney is reportedly willing to go above and beyond and offer USD$301 million, exceeding the amount Heard’s lawyer claimed that Depp would refuse.”
The “amount Heard’s lawyer claimed that Depp would refuse” was famously mentioned in court as “$300 million and a million alpacas.” It became one of many memes to find a life outside of the courtroom. Nevertheless, this report suggests that Disney is taking it very seriously. Or are they? According to another source, this report is false.
As noted via E! Online, a representative for Johnny Depp told the following to NBC News:
“This is made up.”
It’s difficult to argue with a statement that straightforward. It also adds up with what Johnny Depp has previously stated. Johnny Depp has mentioned multiple times that he has no intention in making a Pirates of the Caribbean return, or working with Disney again. Of course, Hollywood is a crazy place, and there’s no telling what could happen in the future. Especially now that Johnny Depp has continued to win back the public’s support.
