It’s been a long time since Hocus Pocus 2 was first announced, and an even longer time since the original film was released in 1993. As such, fans are eager now more than ever to finally see the return of the Sanderson Sisters. Luckily, however, Disney has us covered. A new teaser trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 has just been released and it looks amazing.
The original film has become a major Halloween tradition for many film fans over the decades. If the footage in this new trailer is any indication – then so too will this film. Although it’s only June, the Halloween atmosphere can easily be felt through every frame of the new teaser. One can only imagine then how great the actual movie will be.
Here’s the Hocus Pocus 2 teaser trailer:
Of course, there aren’t many details revealed in the new trailer. But fans can see some familiar iconography, and of course the return of the notorious Sanderson Sisters, which should be more than enough. There also appears to be some new elements regarding our protagonists, so it’ll be exciting to see what happens there.
As for the official setup of the new sequel…
“It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.”
Anne Fletcher directed the film from a screenplay by Jen D’Angelo.
The cast for the film stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the original Sanderson Sisters. The cast also includes Whitney Peak as Becca, Lilia Buckingham as Cassie, and Belissa Escobedo as Izzy. Sam Richardson also stars along with Tony Hale, Hannah Waddingham, Froy Gutierrez, Juju Brener, Taylor Paige Henderson, and Nina Kitchen. Doug Jones will return as Billy Butcherson.
Fans will be able to stream the all-new original sequel Hocus Pocus 2 via Disney Plus on September 30. As such, stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates as we have them.
