As the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands, many fans are eager to know how their favorite movies and shows interconnect. Especially with how certain projects are set in nonlinear time periods, it might be hard to connect the dots. Luckily, Disney Plus is a streaming service that contains almost all of the projects within the MCU. And to help with fans that require a chronological order, they’ve organized a timeline which stays up-to-date with every new project listed on the service. While some films remain unlisted due to rights issues, a surprising addition to Disney Plus UK now reveals where Spider-Man: Homecoming sits on the MCU timeline.
Sony owns the Spider-Man films, which means Disney Plus in the US can’t stream them. Fans then have had to speculate themselves where in the timeline they would fit. But thanks to the film being added to Disney Plus UK, it’s clear where Spider-Man: Homecoming now belongs chronologically. It appears that the film is set after the events of Black Panther yet before the events of Doctor Strange.
Here’s how they’ve ordered the timeline to include Spider-Man: Homecoming:
- Captain America: The First Avenger
- Captain Marvel
- Iron Man
- Iron Man 2
- Thor
- The Avengers
- Thor: The Dark World
- Iron Man 3
- Captain America: The First Avenger
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Ant-Man
- Captain America: Civil War
- Black Widow
- Black Panther
- Spider-Man: Homecoming
- Doctor Strange
- Thor: Ragnarok
- Ant-Man and the Wasp
- Avengers: Infinity War
- Avengers: Endgame
- Loki
- What If…?
- WandaVision
- The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
- Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
- Eternals
- Hawkeye
- Moon Knight
- Ms. Marvel
Of course, the timeline is still excluding certain other MCU projects. In particular, the other two Spider-Man films Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home. But thanks to a new deal with Sony, those should eventually be added to the streaming service. Furthermore, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is also scheduled to be added very soon. As such, the only MCU film that would still be missing from the list is Universal’s The Incredible Hulk.
