Fans have been quite excited to see The Munsters, Rob Zombie’s upcoming film based on the iconic television series of the same name. Fans of musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie will know that The Munsters is one of his all-time favorite television shows, something which has been often referenced throughout his works. Now Rob Zombie has been given the chance to put his own stamp on the brand. As you can see below, in the first-ever trailer for The Munsters, he’s done quite a great job at it.
As you can see, this looks like an exciting homage to the original series which will forever be remembered as a classic family sitcom. While the focus of the series included monsters and the macabre, it was always of the fuzzy and warm variety. Now it looks like Rob Zombie will be continuing that tradition with his take on The Munsters.
Check out the trailer below:
It was previously revealed that the film was related PG for the following reasons:
“Macabre and suggestive material, scary images and language.”
Obviously such a rating is quite the departure for Rob Zombie. But, as revealed in the new trailer, so too is the new film The Munsters.
It’s been about a year since the film was officially confirmed, so fans have certainly been waiting awhile for this moment. After some exciting behind-the-scenes looks given by Rob Zombie himself, however, fans can see glimpses of the film in action. Hopefully it won’t be much longer before more updates as revealed.
The cast for the film features Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa Munster. The cast also includes Richard Brake as Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, Jorge Garcia as Floop, and Catherine Schell as Zoya Krupp the gypsy queen.
