It was suspected that the end of this recent trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp would be the end of their legal debacle. Unfortunately, it appears to be far from it. While the two have both stated they wish to move on, that hasn’t exactly happened yet. For example, Johnny Depp recently made a TikTok video to thank his fans for their support throughout the case and allegations. While that’s understandable, Amber Heard did not think so, and suggested that women’s rights are going to “move backward” because Johnny Depp won the trial.
Amber Heard made this statement following the creation of Johnny Depp’s TikTok account. Within a day of its creation, Johnny Depp acquired over 8 million followers. At an even faster pace, his first video earned over 16 million views. However, a statement made by Amber Heard’s spokesperson was written as a negative response to this.
Here’s what the statement said:
“As Johnny Depp says he’s ‘moving forward,’ women’s rights are moving backward. The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is… be afraid to stand up and speak out.”

@johnnydeppTo all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters. We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared. And now, we will all move forward together. You are, as always, my employers and once again I am whittled down to no way to say thank you, other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love & respect, JD
This matches what Amber Heard had to say in her statement following the release of the verdict. While the majority of the verdict went in favor of Johnny Depp, Amber Heard did win on one count. The jury founded that she had indeed been defamed with a statement made by Depp’s attorney. In any case, most of the public support seems to be going in favor of Johnny Depp at this time. Which should make the next update exciting to see – especially since Amber Heard plans to appeal the verdict made against her.
Fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more updates on this debacle as we have them. If the last few years have proven anything, it’ll probably continue to be quite some time before things are thoroughly settled.
