Warner Bros has been gradually expanding their adaptations of popular DC properties. With a variety of takes on Batman, for example, all headed to the big screen at the same time – fans have been wondering what other possibilities were on the way. In particular, fans were anxious to know if a sequel to Todd Phillips’ Joker could be on the horizon. Well, as it turns out, the sequel is finally picking up steam. Director Todd Phillips just revealed on his Instagram the script for Joker 2, along with a confirmed working title and photo of Joaquin Phoenix.
It appears that the confirmed working title for Joker 2 is Folie à Deux which actually translates to “madness for two.” It’s unknown how specifically this working title alludes to the upcoming film, but it seems to suggest the possibility of split personalities or multiple Jokers. Indeed, it looks like this sequel will be much crazier than anyone who has seen the first film ever anticipated.

As such, now that we know Todd Phillips has been working on the script and Joaquin Phoenix is reading it, that should be quite reassuring. Especially for those who didn’t suspect that such a sequel would come to fruition. But as it turns out, the team of Joker is getting back together for round two after all. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more updates as we have them. It should definitely be exciting to see where the story can go from here. Especially given how the previous film concluded.
Fans can currently watch Joker on HBO Max, where it’s streaming alongside a wide variety of other DCEU films and television shows. The film is also available on other digital streaming and VOD platforms as well as physical home media formats such as DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD.
