The newest season of Stranger Things has finally been released on Netflix. Interestingly, however, Netflix chose not to release the entire season all at once. Instead, the new season was split into two halves. The first half, titled Volume 1, consists of the first seven episodes. The second half, titled Volume 2, consists of the final two episodes. As for the first volume, however, the season ends on quite a large note. Thus continue reading for the ending of Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 to be explained.
Interestingly, one of the biggest questions prior to the season is answered very early on. Specifically, how exactly Hopper survived the events of the third season. This survival is explained very quickly and the character spends his time in a Russian prison for the rest of the season. Eventually, this leads to the end of his story arc, in which he reunites with Joyce and Murray.
As for Eleven, she not only relearns how to use her powers, but some of her lost memories. It’s at this point that the origins of Vecna are uncovered – and we learn that he was Victor Creel’s son, Henry. It turns out that he was psychic from a young age and was labeled by Dr. Brenner as “One.” He was the basis for the entire experiment that Eleven would eventually become the eleventh subject of. Furthermore, the two even battled in the past, which explains how Eleven managed to open the portal to the Upside Down in the first place. This not only allowed the Demogorgon from the first season to escape, but it allowed Henry to mutate into the entity that’s now known as Vecna.
While this concludes the first volume of episodes from Stranger Things Season 4, there are still two episodes to be released with the next volume. As such, it’ll be exciting to see which answers and inevitably which other questions will be brought up during that premiere. Until then, Stranger Things 4 has done an exciting job of bringing things full circle and pushing the series forward while explaining its past.
The cast for the new season includes returning stars David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp. We will also be seeing the return of Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Winona Ryder, and Cara Buono. New additions to the cast include Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, Nikola Djuricko, and Tom Wlaschiha.
Fans can currently watch the newest season of Stranger Things on Netflix, with the second volume of episodes scheduled to be released on July 1.
