Fans have been waiting quite some time for the highly-anticipated sequel Indiana Jones 5 to arrive. The film took years of development before shooting got underway, and even then, production was interrupted several other times. But everyone involved persisted, and sure enough, it’s paid off. Fans have now received their first official look at Indiana Jones 5 – and it confirms the return of actor Harrison Ford as the beloved and iconic titular adventurer.
The image, which was revealed at a Lucasfilm presentation, also featured an appearance from Harrison Ford. The actor said as much during the presentation:
“I’m really proud of the movie we made…I’ll be seeing you around campus.”
As stated in the below caption:
“In 2023, Harrison Ford returns as the legendary #IndianaJones. Check out this first look of the new James Mangold-directed film.”

Quoted via Gizmodo, Harrison Ford confirmed that composer John Williams will be returning to score the upcoming film. As fans know, John Williams is as important to the franchise as Harrison Ford, so it’s truly going to be a great addition to the franchise.
Hopefully we’ll have more details about the film soon. While it isn’t scheduled to be released in theaters until next year, meaning it’ll likely be awhile before we receive additional glimpses at the film, we should hopefully have more plot details soon. It’s so far expected to take place after the events of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – but beyond that is mostly anyone’s guess.
The fifth Indiana Jones film was directed by James Mangold. The screenplay was written by Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth alongside James Mangold.
Harrison Ford will return to reprise his role as the titular adventurer for the Lucasfilm project. Meanwhile, the cast also includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Toby Jones, Antonio Banderas, and Olivier Richters.
After several delays, fans will finally be able to see Indiana Jones 5 in theaters on June 30, 2023.
