One of the most exciting things about Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox is that they’d own the rights to the X-Men films and thus the Deadpool film franchise. This meant that not only would they be involved with the making of Deadpool 3, but the new Deadpool sequel would presumably be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, we haven’t been given much information beyond that aside from Ryan Reynolds returning to star and Shawn Levy being attached to direct. Now the official Deadpool Twitter account has posted a hilarious update for Deadpool 3.
As you can see in the below Twitter post, the Deadpool page began with the following line regarding Deadpool 3:
“Deadpool 3 update: We’ve nailed down brand integrations.”
Next up, they revealed that they only have just about everything else left to do:
“Story, character, and script next!”

The photo they’ve chosen to include is an edited still from Deadpool 2. Amusingly enough, Ryan Reynolds fans will notice that there are a number of nods to brands that Reynolds has ownership of. This includes the Mint Mobile jacket, Aviation Gin bottle, and other such brand labels. Indeed, they definitely appear to have “nailed down brand integrations.”
While this is a humorous “update” and one that guarantees Deadpool 3 will retain the franchise’s style of goofball humor, fans might still be anxious for an actual update. After all, it’s been several years since the release of Deadpool 2. It makes sense that fans would like to know what’s happening with the series behind the scenes. But given that the film only recently had director Shawn Levy attached, it will likely be awhile before we see some legitimate movement. Until then, of course, fans will still be able to stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates as we have them.
At least we know that Deadpool 3 will happen eventually. And when it does, it will have the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to use to its advantage.
