Fans have been waiting quite some time for an adaptation of Twisted Metal to get off the ground. While we know that the series will be headed to Peacock, it’s now been revealed that Neve Campbell has joined the cast of Twisted Metal.
This information, via Deadline, is an exciting new development for the series. Neve Campbell will be joining a cast that includes Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, and Thomas Haden Church. Specifically, she’ll be playing the character Raven.
As they explained:
“Neve Campbell (The Lincoln Lawyer) has joined the cast of Peacock‘s Twisted Metal in a recurring role. Campbell will play Raven opposite Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, and Thomas Haden Church.”
Here’s the rundown of the series that they were able to provide:
“Twisted Metal is a half-hour action-comedy about a motor-mouthed outsider (Mackie) offered a chance at a better life — but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a postapocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief (Beatriz), he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all-too-familiar ice cream truck.”
The series is based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Michael Jonathan Smith (“Cobra Kai”) is on board to write and act as showrunner for Twisted Metal. Will Arnett and Marc Forman are executive producing. Kitao Sakurai is attached to direct several episodes of the upcoming show.
Twisted Metal is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Hopefully we’ll have more details on this upcoming series soon. The addition of Neve Campbell to the Twisted Metal cast is an especially exciting announcement for the Peacock series, so fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more updates as we have them. After so many attempts, it looks like everything is finally falling into place.
