While the original Supernatural series which began in 2005 recently came to an end, the franchise is far from over. In fact, fans will soon be able to witness the very beginning of Supernatural and two of its most important characters – John and Mary Winchester. The two characters will be the focus of an all-new series set before the events of Supernatural, titled The Winchesters. Now fans can watch the first official trailer for the upcoming inaugural season of The Winchesters.
The CW has attempted to create a Supernatural spin-off several times now. But The Winchesters has so far been the only success to make it to series. As such, this will be an exciting series for fans to see – especially now that Supernatural has sadly come to an end.

Here’s the setup for the new series, which will explore the origins of John and Mary, the parents of Sam and Dean Winchester:
“Mary (Meg Donnelly) is 19 years old and has been fighting the forces of darkness since she was a child. After losing someone close to her, the hardened hunter considers quitting the family business — until her father’s disappearance and the arrival of newcomer John (Drake Rodger) forces her to lead a new team. John has recently returned from Vietnam. Selfless and clear headed, he finds a new mission back home, where traces of his father’s past lead him to a secret organization and a whole new war as a hunter.”
Meg Donnelly stars in the series as Mary while Drake Rodger will be playing John. Jensen Ackles will return to narrate the series as his iconic character Dean Winchester. Supernatural executive producer Robbie Thompson is onboard as a writer and executive producer.
The Winchesters will premiere on The CW in Fall 2022.
