While fans continue to support Johnny Depp over Amber Heard, the petition to have Amber Heard removed from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom continues to grow. The petition was initially started to keep Amber Heard excluded from the film’s production. While she was still part of the project as it began shooting, fans continued signing and sharing the petition. Now that Johnny Depp’s lawsuit against Amber Heard has caught the attention of the public, the Aquaman 2 petition has grown immensely. In fact, as of this writing, it’s now past 4 million signatures.
The petition, which is available at Change.org, has now reached 4.1 million signatures. It probably won’t be much longer now before the petition hits the 5 million mark. While Warner Bros has not removed Amber Heard from the film’s production, they have seemed to acknowledge the public’s opinion about her. A recent report has suggested that Warner Bros will be giving Amber Heard less than 10 minutes of screen time in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. And, if this petition continues to gain signatures, it’s possible she could get even less. Especially depending on the outcome of this ongoing trial.
The creator of the petition wrote the following in their description:
“Amber Heard has been exposed as a domestic abuser by Johnny Depp. In his $50 million lawsuit, Johnny Depp describes many incidents of domestic abuse that he suffered at the hands of his (then) wife Amber Heard, including one incident where she punched him twice in the face and another where she shattered his finger with a vodka bottle, and his finger had to be surgically reattached. He will bear the scar from that for the rest of his life.”
They further detailed reasons for why Amber Heard should be excluded from Aquaman 2. While it’s unknown how Amber Heard will be effected as the trial continues, it’s clear that her public reputation has been lowered in the eyes of most fans.
