We previously reported that Warner Bros. is considering a replacement for Ezra Miller as The Flash. After all, with various controversies surrounding Miller following several arrests and allegations, it makes sense that Warner Bros might want to distance themselves from the actor. It was noted in our initial report that one of the replacements being considered for Ezra Miller was none other than Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien. Now, we wanted to clarify that Ezra Miller would only be replaced after the upcoming film The Flash is released, if it were to happen – as it’s only been considered.
After our initial report was published, many readers were confused due to certain sites and popular Twitter accounts twisting our words – for reasons we’re still not quite sure of. Clarification was offered to each site but our requests were ignored. We stated that Ezra Miller was being considered to be replaced and we didn’t mean in the upcoming Flash film. Our story never stated that.
Here’s what our original report stated:
It’s unclear how many actors have topped WB’s list to replace Ezra Miller as The Flash. However, one such name that a source close to the situation has informed us about is Dylan O’Brien. The 30-year-old actor is known for roles in both television and film, including the MTV series Teen Wolf. He also played the lead character in Love and Monsters.
Despite this, here are some examples of the response to our story:
Despite their legal issues, Ezra Miller will not be recast in ‘THE FLASH’.
ScreenGeek recently reported Miller would be recast in the film but those claims have now been debunked.

Replacing Ezra Miller with Dylan O’Brien this late into THE FLASH’s production would cost millions of dollars. Not only did the movie wrap filming months ago, but a rough cut has been put together and it’s already been test screened. WB can’t afford to replace them.

I’m told that WB is *not* considering replacing Ezra Miller on THE FLASH. Miller was arrested twice in Hawai’i this year, once for disorderly conduct and harassment, and again for second-degree assault.

No, Dylan O’Brien is NOT replacing Ezra Miller in THE FLASH. The movie wrapped more than 5 months ago.

Article didn’t say they want to replace Ezra Miller *in* The Flash

The Flash has already wrapped shooting with Ezra Miller in the lead role. In fact, the project is currently in post-production. So it’s nearly impossible that Warner Bros would consider reshooting Ezra Miller’s integral scenes for such an expensive production. We’re well aware of that.
Our report was centered around the possibility of Ezra Miller being replaced in future Flash projects and appearances. This would allow an actor, such as Dylan O’Brien for example, to take over for any sequels, crossovers, and other additional cameos like the one Ezra Miller had in Peacemaker. As for Ezra Miller’s Flash film scheduled for a 2023 release, they’re still attached to star. So fans shouldn’t expect Miller to be replaced in that particular outing.
Furthermore, Warner Bros has yet to come to a decision regarding Ezra Miller. This likely depends on the outcome of the actor’s current legal situation. As such, there is still time for future announcements regarding any potential replacements. The point is that Warner Bros has already considered bringing another actor, such as the aforementioned Dylan O’Brien, into the role.
After seeing the studio replace Ben Affleck with Michael Keaton, and even introduce another Batman with Robert Pattinson, it would make sense that they’re open to doing the same with The Flash. So stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates as we have them.
