Now that a new promo for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has further teased the introduction of the Illuminati, fans have gotten an even better look at Professor X. Patrick Stewart will reprise his role from the X-Men films to portray Professor X, but it seems Disney has gone a step further with the character. The new footage from the film actually reveals that Professor X will have a comic-accurate yellow chair. This is something that was illustrated in the original X-Men comics, so seeing it come to fruition in live-action – and in the MCU, no less – is a true treat for fans.
It’s worth noting that Patrick Stewart’s face isn’t shown in the footage, but it’s clear that this is the chair he’ll be using as Professor X. As Marvel continues to expand their concept of the “Multiverse,” following the success of films like Spider-Man: No Way Home, this is just one exciting glimpse of what the franchise is capable of.

Now that we’ve seen the footage, it’ll be interesting to see how Professor X is used for the rest of the film. It’s possible that this is a new variant of Professor X instead of the version we’re familiar with from the X-Men film franchise. In any case, it’s expected that we’ll be seeing plenty of other characters’ variants and surprise cameos in the upcoming film as well. If Spider-Man: No Way Home is any indication, then Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be full of such surprises. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for further updates as we have them. And soon enough, the film will be playing in theaters.
The highly-anticipated sequel to Doctor Strange, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, will be released in theaters on May 4, 2022.
