The upcoming MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is fast approaching. As such, Marvel is hyping up their promotional campaign, and they just released a very revealing TV spot. The new spot actually shows a lot of cameos that were mostly only teased in the past. For example, fans get a clearer look at Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier. But the new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness TV spot also shows Hayley Atwell’s return as Captain Carter.
While the appearances of these characters were strongly hinted before, as mentioned above, the new look released today guarantees these characters to be in the film. Aside from those mentioned above, the new TV spot also shows Lashana Lynch as a variant of Captain Marvel.
Here’s the TV spot below:
Meanwhile, it’s Captain Carter that has become an especially popular character as of late. This version of Peggy Carter was introduced in Marvel’s What If…? and quickly became a fan-favorite. Her character comes from a scenario in which Peggy Carter is given the Super Soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers. As such, she’s the one to go up against Red Skull. Interestingly, however, she has a much different fate than Captain America. Her character is instead sent through a portal opened by the Tesseract and eventually she joins the Guardians of the Multiverse.
While it’s unknown if this is the same variant of Captain Carter that’s in the new Doctor Strange film, it would certainly make sense. Especially if she went from being a member of the Guardians of the Multiverse and joined the Illuminati instead. Of course, we’ll likely only know until the film is released. As such, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for further updates as we have them.
The highly-anticipated sequel to Doctor Strange, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, will be released in theaters on May 4, 2022.
