The upcoming sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been in production for quite some time now. Of course, many details about the film have been kept under wraps. As the release date for the film, which is scheduled for later this year, inevitably comes closer – fans finally got their first look at footage from the new movie. Specifically, Marvel Studios shared footage from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever during Disney’s CinemaCon 2022 presentation.
While footage from the film has yet to be revealed online, this is still an exciting moment for eager fans. Especially because we have descriptions of what the footage entails. And although the scenes shown were brief, given that it was shown within a larger sizzle reel, it still featured the film’s lead characters. In particular, it showed Shuri, Okoye, and Nakia prepared at the front lines of a battle. Unfortunately, details beyond that are scarce.
As noted via ScreenRant:
“The Black Panther 2 footage does not include confirmation on who Wakanda’s army is preparing to fight, but this could be a tease of Namor’s villainous role.”
It’s definitely exciting to contemplate which villain the film could be teasing. While Namor makes plenty of sense, fans will likely have to continue waiting until we know for sure. The film won’t be released until closer to the end of this year, so it’s possible that we won’t see any public trailers for quite some time. With that said, fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates on Black Panther 2 as we have them. The upcoming film will be a big one for the MCU, as it not only ties into many upcoming Marvel projects, but it will also act as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.
Fans will be able to see the highly-anticipated Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, later this year on November 11, 2022.
