David Gordon Green’s trilogy of Halloween sequels will soon come to an end. The highly-anticipated conclusion to the trilogy, Halloween Ends, is scheduled to be released later this year. The film recently wrapped production, and now actor Nick Castle is teasing a “surprising storyline” for Halloween Ends along with a surprising ending.
He revealed as much while speaking during a panel at Steel City Con April 2022. Of course, he couldn’t give any specific story details. But what he did promise certainly sounds like an exciting time for longtime fans of the franchise.
Here’s what Nick Castle specifically said regarding Halloween Ends via FandomSpotlite:
“I think there might be more because of all the success of [this trilogy], but [Green] will have a very surprising storyline, an ending for everyone. It’s absolutely something I don’t think you would have ever guessed in terms of the way it’s going to unroll.”
He also teased the high quality of the upcoming sequel:
“My good friend James Jude Courtney, he’s doing 99% of the work in the last three movies as Michael Myers and doing a wonderful job I think,” Castle began. “I just saw he was over at the editing room where they’re completing the first cut of Halloween Ends with David Gordon Green, of course, as the steward of the ship. It sounds like it should be pretty good.”
Nick Castle is expected to have yet another cameo as Michael Myers in Halloween Ends. As fans of the franchise know, Nick Castle played Michael Myers aka The Shape in the original film. While James Jude Courtney took over as Michael Myers for these modern sequels, they’ve still included Nick Castle with small cameos and he even supplied the character’s breathing vocalizations. It’s certainly given an additional layer of authenticity for these new sequels, and it’ll be interesting to see what the filmmakers have in store for Halloween Ends.
Fans will be able to see Halloween Ends later this year on October 14, 2022.
