Many interesting testimonies have been making their way into the public with Johnny Depp’s latest lawsuit against Amber Heard. Now Johnny Depp’s sister, Christi Dembrowski, has testified about the two having a physically abusive mother. According to her, they swore to never be like her as they got older.
As revealed via People, Christi Dembrowski gave her statement at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia. Dembrowski first began by saying that she and Johnny Depp “would run and hide,” noting that their mother was abusive towards their father.
She then continued:
“She would hit us. She would throw things.”
Christi Dembrowski was then asked if Johnny Depp would ever hit his mother in retaliation, but Dembrowski insists that he never did.
“He never went to that place.”
“Really early on as a young child,” she said, “none of what was happening in our home felt good. And so, as I got older, both Johnny and I actually, we decided that once we left, once we had our own home, we were never going to repeat, ever, anything similar in any way to our childhood. We were gonna do it different.”
After explaining all of this, however, Christi Dembrowski added that her and Johnny Depp’s mother “softened” with age. Their mother, Betty Sue Palmer, died at age 81 in May 2016.
The ongoing legal debacle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has had quite an interesting history, with both parties having accused one another of domestic abuse. This latest trial is expected to put an end to the matter once and for all. As such, we’re going to be hearing many interesting and enlightening testimonies over the next few weeks. At the very least, both Johnny Depp’s lawyers and Amber Heard’s lawyers have both insisted that this will be the case – of course, each side is confident in their evidence against the other.
