The legal disputes between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard have become quite notorious over the years. With several lawsuits having occurred over the various allegations, it appears that the latest defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard will actually air on Court TV. The network has stated that viewers will be provided “unobstructed and unbiased views of the proceedings.” The trial is currently scheduled to begin on April 11 in Virginia.
Ethan Nelson, Acting Head of Court TV, also delivered a statement on the matter. As noted via ComicBook, he stated that Court TV’s goal is to deliver the events of the proceedings in an unbiased way. This will allow viewers to understand the facts of the trial without any misleading perspectives or information.
As noted in his full statement:
“Court cases that are as high-profile as this one often create a lot of noise, and it can be difficult for viewers to break through these distractions to have a clear picture of the facts, but that’s where we come in,” Ethan Nelson began. “Between the camera feed directly from the courtroom and our first-class lineup of talent, Court TV will be the true source of an unbiased, down-the-middle perspective of the trial as it unfolds.”
This latest lawsuit between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard first occurred when Depp sued Heard for libel. Amber Heard wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post that claimed the actor abused her both verbally and physically during their past marriage. As a result, Johnny Depp is seeking $50 million in damages. The actor previously filed another lawsuit against The Sun where they called Johnny Depp a “wife-beater.” However, Johnny Depp lost this lawsuit and the appeal, and later withdrew from his role in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise.
As such, it’ll be interesting to see where the legal battles go from here. Now viewers will be able to tune into Court TV on April 11 to get a clear picture of what’s going on between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
