Fans and celebrities alike have been commenting on Will Smith’s decision to slap Chris Rock at the Oscars. It was a shocking moment than many viewers thought was some kind of publicity stunt at first. Unfortunately, Will Smith’s actions were very real, and Chris Rock brushed them off like a pro. Of course, Chris Rock has remained silent on the matter since then, only now breaking his silence. Now fans can see what Chris Rock himself has to say after being slapped by Will Smith.
According to Variety, Chris Rock addressed the incident while speaking at his comedy show in Boston. He insists that he’s still trying to process everything. As such, we’ll probably hear more from him in the near future.
For now, however, he had this to say at the beginning of the show:
“I don’t have a bunch of shit about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend. I’m still kind of processing what happened. So, at some point I’ll talk about that shit. And it will be serious and funny.”
The two have reportedly reconciled since then, but given the magnitude of the event, there will probably be a lot of time needed to fully process everything. With so many celebrities and viewers still getting involved with the conversation, and discussing what consequences Will Smith should face if any, it makes sense that Chris Rock would want to carefully process everything and talk about it when he’s ready. So for fans that hope to hear what he has to say, they’ll just have to keep waiting.
Until then, it looks like Chris Rock is going to find the humor by being slapped one way or another. So stay tuned to ScreenGeek for updates as we have them.
