With the ongoing expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, more and more projects are announced almost daily. For example, it was recently announced that Marvel had a project based on the character Nova in development. The character is known for being a member of the Nova Corps, an intergalactic police force, and it’s currently unknown whether the project would be a film or series. The only information at the time given is that Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada is attached. Well, now new information has surfaced, and it allegedly already spoils the ending of the Nova project.
This information comes via Cosmic Circus, and considering how early in development this project is, it should be taken with a grain of salt. Of course, there are potential spoilers, so fans should take caution when reading below.
According to Cosmic Circus, it appears that Marvel hopes to use both individuals that used the Nova superhero alter-ego in the comics. The character has been known as both Richard Rider and Sam Alexander over the years, and this new project would tackle both iterations of the character. While that’s already an interesting direction to explore, the rumor goes further. While some would expect only one version of Nova to be left standing, it appears that both iterations will move forward in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As such, this could allow the Richard Rider version of Nova to stay in space and handle any intergalactic issues to follow. Meanwhile, Sam Alexander will be allowed to stay on Earth and handle any issues located there. It’s unknown what the other details surrounding the project are, and whether or not these details are accurate. But with Marvel expanding their universe, it certainly seems like a plausible way to keep things going both cosmically and on Earth. While the two Nova iterations don’t interact much in the comics, Richard Rider could very well be the mentor for Sam Alexander, which would be another interesting direction to follow after the initial project’s ending.
Of course, the project is still in the early stages of development, so fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for further updates as we have them.
