Halo premiered this week on Paramount Plus, and fans got an idea of what to expect with the upcoming show. Pablo Schreiber played the iconic Master Chief character – and it turns out that the actor has actually talked about playing another iconic character in Marvel’s Wolverine. Obviously, those are some pretty big shoes to fill after how long Hugh Jackman was in the role and what his portrayal meant to a lot of fans.
While speaking during a recent interview on the Bingeworthy podcast, Schreiber confirmed that he’s open to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a reboot of the X-Men on the way. He also confirmed that he’s had discussions with Marvel at various points in his career – saying that when it came to the role of Wolverine that “we flirted with that one for a while”.
The actor was quoted as saying:
“That’d be fantastic, that would certainly be a dream casting. He’s actually my favorite hero, from a child he was always my favorite comic book. So I’ve had a long flirtation with that guy, so you know, obviously, that’d be a dream.”
Schreiber also added:
“Yeah. You know I’ve seen [fancast] things pop up a lot. I’ve had a bunch of discussions with Marvel at different points in my career. We’ve never been able to find the right thing at the right time, but I’d certainly be open to that. But, yeah, it’s just staying open to the right path and I don’t know exactly what that is, but I’ll know it when I see it.”
Whether or not we can expect to see Pablo Schreiber as Wolverine remains to be seen, as the actor is expected to play Master Chief on the Halo series for the foreseeable future, as the show has already been renewed for a second season and taking on a role as big as Wolverine in addition to that one might be a little too much.
As with everything Marvel related, we’ll just have to wait and see. For now, though, you can see Schreiber in the Halo series currently streaming on Paramount Plus.
