The Halo video game franchise has become quite well-known for its main protagonist, Master Chief, a character that never removes his helmet. While that’s become a trademark of the video game franchise, it looks like the newly-released television series chose to take a different direction. In fact, they’ve chosen to outright show Master Chief without his helmet – something which never occurred in the video games as mentioned. Now you can get a look at Master Chief without his helmet below, as played by actor Pablo Schreiber.
The image, which comes courtesy of the show’s first episode, is quite clear. As such, fans of the character might be surprised to not only see the face of Master Chief – but with such a perfectly-lit angle. They’re not trying to hide the character at all here, and it’s clear that this series will take a different course while attempting to remain faithful to the video games.

It’s worth noting that they didn’t alter actor Pablo Schreiber at all for the reveal. While the character’s face was previously left up to the imagination for decades, this is a very straightforward interpretation of the character. Specifically, because, Master Chief simply looks identical to Schreiber. Without any kind of scars or prosthetics, it’s a very interesting portrayal.
As for the plot of the TV series which was recently renewed for a second season…
“Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, Halo the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.”
The cast for this series includes actor Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief aka John-117, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, Jen Taylor as Cortana, and Bokeem Woodbine as Soren 066.
The first episode of the live-action Halo series is currently available on the Paramount Plus streaming platform.
